When Sarah approached me about joining the Golden Frog team, I was both flattered and excited.

Flattered because Golden Frog is the business Sarah’s nurtured and invested in over the last 13 years to the successful agency it is now, and excited, as the opportunity felt like the perfect next step for me personally.

I moved up from London seven years ago looking for a better work-life balance with my Yorkshire born and bred husband and two young boys. We had a little, well actually a lot of help finding a new home from a certain, popular day time TV show (50:50 chance of guessing which one, but I am not saying!).

I had spent the previous 20 years working in events production, mainly in programme design and content development, for large, influential policy organisations such as the British Retail Consortium, CBI and UN Principles for Responsible Investment. At the latter I wrote the programme for their annual, global four-day event in Singapore, fun and fascinating but also mind boggling!

After this, we were ready for change and the north beckoned. Once we were all settled in, I joined the National Trust team based at Beningbrough Hall as a Marketing Executive on a three-day-a-week contract. What a beautiful and inspiring place to work when you’ve only just landed in Yorkshire!

Following a couple of years at the Trust I decided to go freelance, and my first client was a local vineyard – another win! Plus, it was just a short bike ride away – what a commute! In my first week we were joined at Dunesforde by Rev Kate Bottley (old school Gogglebox!) to film for The One Show. Working for Dunesforde was a two-year education in wine where I supported the family in growing the brand – great fun and very varied. It was wonderful to be part of a new venture.

Since then, I have started working with several clients in and around Ripon including Newby Hall & Gardens, Ripon Cathedral and Ripon Theatre Festival. I seem to gravitate to organisations with a strong sense of community, something that means a lot to me. I have got heavily involved in the village community where I live and help organise the annual Garden Festival and Beer Festival.

So, joining the Golden Frog community is a great move for me. This small but mighty team clearly packs a punch and has some businesses that may have started small but are now thriving, largely thanks to the golden touch of the frogs!

I look forward to supporting Sarah and Richard grow the business and working with the team to deliver the excellent service Golden Frog has become so well known for in Yorkshire.
